Pineapple farming happens year-round, giving family farmers an assured source of income. LPMPC, a Philippine cooperative of pineapple farmers sells the fruit and pineapple-based products such as juice and jam. However, it is a waste product that offers the greatest profit: fibers extracted from pineapple leaves.
