Will we give youths prospects for the future? | Trias
Home / Most urgent cases / Will we give youths prospects for the future?

At the end of the month, seven per cent of the population in Tanzania receives a fixed income. In Trias' intervention zone this is less than three per cent. This means most people have to fend for themselves. Because of the poor education level this is not a pleasant prospect for youths. Trias gives young talents the opportunities they deserve.

Step 1: We select youths with an idea

Together with our local partners we select youths who want to move ahead in life. This concerns youths with ideas to be independent.

Step 2: Youths receive professional guidance

We unite the young people in enterprise groups. Together with people of their own age they are able to exchange ideas. With the support of professional coaches the ideas for executable (business) plans ripen.

Step 3: We stimulate their enterprise

The selected youths take part in a business competition. It is in fact an intensive training week which all participants benefit from. After this week we select a number of winners who receive a microcredit to fulfil their dream. In 2015 and 2016 Trias has trained 551 young people, 91 of which received a small loan.

Thank you for helping to safeguard the future of youths in Tanzania!
