In Ghana the Ministry of Agriculture does not have enough money to hire enough extension workers. And the extension workers they do have don't have enough money to fill up their motorcycle. Things have to change.

Step 1: We unite farmers

Farmers who unite are able to exchange knowledge. We train extension workers in local farmers' groups to ensure the information is available at all times and for everyone.

Step 2: We train extension workers

Almost 200 farmers have been successfully trained as extension workers. They pass on their knowledge to 14,000 farmers' families. These people now know how much artificial fertiliser they have to use, when the time is ready to sow and harvest, et cetera.

Step 3: The farmers discover radio, video and text message

The extension workers would be able to spread their knowledge on a far greater scale using radio-broadcasts, mobile video cars and text messages. Work to do!
