COOKING COSTS MONEY

Agriculture in the bone-dry north of Ghana is a small-scale and labour-intensive occupation. Due to the lack of investment capital. There is one solution…

Step 1: We connect farmers' groups with rural banks

For years, Trias has played a facilitating role between farmers and the 16 microcredit banks in the north of Ghana. The better the farmers are organised, the more the banks like it: social control is accepted as security.

Step 2: The banks develop better financial products

Trias helps the microcredit banks in the development of savings, credit and insurance products tailor-made to farmers. They learn everything about the management of portfolios and the screening of potential customers.

Step 3: The farmers' families learn how to handle money

Trias makes every effort to make sure the farmers use credits, savings accounts and insurance policies intelligently. This is a must in a region where 80 percent of the population is illiterate.
