In Peru it is not self-evident that women claim their fundamental rights. We strengthen their self-image so they are not afraid to take the step to stand up for their personal self-development and social change.
We strengthen Fenmucarinap, an organisation of more than 100,000 enterprising women. This umbrella organisation houses federations, trade union associations and co-operatives which all have the same aim: give women the right to fulfil their own dreams. To be able to influence the political agenda, Fenmucarinap must first get its internal organisation structures in order.
We give training courses to board members of Fenmucarinap to make them aware of women's rights. Together we look for alternative sources of income that help women stand on their own two feet. And we also monitor the influx of young women at Fenmucarinap.
As soon as the board members of Fenmucarinap are trained in advocacy, they are able to formulate specific policy proposals and mobilise members. Together we look for the best ways to convert their legitimate aspirations into social change. This is not simple, because in Peru politics too is a traditional male stronghold.
By making a one-off donation you support the self-development of women in Peru.
